Obituary of Josephine Italiano

Josephine Marie Italiano Age 91, of Horseheads, NY passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026 after years of battling cancer. With her were two caring Nurses at Bethany Village along with her nephew Patrick Beeman. Josephine was born June 5, 1934 in Elmira, NY to the late Pasquale "Patsy" and Flora (Montrose) Italiano. She was a graduate of Elmira Southside High School and the Retail Merchandise Program at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Her love for fashion led her to a Buyer position for I Magnin in San Francisco, Ca. She traveled extensively with her position and in her personal life. Some of the countries she enjoyed visiting were Greece, China, Thailand and Japan. Her many passions not only included fashion and travel but also writing and cooking. Josephine was also very generous and gave to many charities. Josephine was predeceased by her brother Anthony "Tony" and sister's Mary Wheeler and Flo Beeman. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and several close friends. Josephine's wish was to be cremated and to have her ashes scattered in San Francisco Bay by the Neptune Society. The family are making plans to have a Memorial and Mass,to be announced in the future, held at St. Mary's Church in Elmira, NY, prior to her ashes being given to the Neptune Society. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Bethany Village Nursing Home for the excellent care and compassion they provided Josephine while under their care.
