Obituary of Tricia Lyn Howland-Whitney

HOWLAND-WHITNEY, Tricia Lyn Age 43 of Corning passed away unexpectedly Fri June 19, 2015. Tricia was born in Elmira, NY on March 17, 1972. She is survived by her parents Jack and Kay (Shopes) Howland, formerly of Syracuse and recently of The Villages, FL; Sister, Stacey Porter of Buffalo with her children, Alex Randazzo and Madison Porter; Former husband and best friend, Stacey “Whit” Whitney of Corning, NY; Grandmother, Murial Shopes of Horseheads, NY; Her beloved Shi-Tzu, Joey;Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Tricia was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Al and June Shopes and paternal grandparents, Jack and Sara Howland. She was a graduate of Twin Tiers Baptist High School, Onondaga Community College and the Syracuse School of Cosmetology. As a student she was an accomplished swimmer being a member of the NY State Championship River Rats Swim Team. She enjoyed crafts and family. She was known for her brilliant smile, wonderful sense of humor and infectious personality. In addition to her family, Tricia will be missed by those people whose lives she touched. For many years she was the Community Manager for several area apartment complexes in Ithaca, Syracuse, Endicott, Buffalo, and Albany. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Tues. June 23, 2015 from 4-6:00 pm where her service will follow at 6:00 pm.
