Obituary of James E. Sindelar

SINDELAR, James E. Age 74 of Elmira Heights passed away, Sunday, October 25, 2015. He was born in Elmira Sept. 13, 1941, to Joseph Sindelar and Beatrice (Haynes) Bixbey. His surviving family includes his daughters: Lisa Sindelar of Yardley, PA and Wendy Sindelar of Cocoa Beach, FL as well as their mother, Sara (Stansfield) Sindelar; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson; brothers: Joe (Kris) Sindelar of Horseheads, Charlie (Elsie) Sindelar of Breeseport, and Robert Sindelar of Painted Post; sisters: Helen Kohan of Elmira and Nancy (Ross) Barnes of Anderson, SC; aunt, Pearl Sutfin of Horseheads; several nieces and nephews; deceased sister, Rose Sweet. Jim was an accountant for Red Ten Electronics in Elmira Heights for many years. He was also a veteran of the US Navy. Jim was an avid Syracuse and Ohio State sports fan and followed his nephew Joey Sindelar on the PGA tour. He was a long time member of the Glad Tidings Church and the Gideon’s. At his request, services with the Barber Funeral Home will be private.
