Obituary of Lawrence G. Chase

CHASE, Lawrence G. age 92 passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at the Bath VA Medical Center. Larry was predeceased by his loving wife, Ruth in 2011; and his son, Gerald in 1996. He is survived by daughters, Gayle Swank of Horseheads, NY and Darlene Woodruff of Wellsburg, NY; granddaughter, Jessica (Ben) Cook of Port Townsend, WA; great grandson, Maxamillian Cook and many friends and neighbors including God daughter, Patricia Colon, longtime friend Barbara Perkins and family, Ham Radio buddies Jack and Derek, and extended family and friends in Latrobe PA and nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his siblings Keith Chase and Lu Fanna Whiting. Larry was a long time area auto body mechanic retiring form Danny’s Body Shop. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Veteran of US Army and member of Elmira Heights American Legion, a Volunteer of the Horseheads Food Pantry and AARP. Larry was also a long time Ham Radio Operator “WA2YQO” Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, Inc., 413 S. Main St. on Mon Nov. 16, 2015 from 3-5:00 pm. His service will be celebrated in the First United Methodist Church 1034 W. Broad St. Horseheads on Tues Nov. 17, 2015 at 11:00 am. Burial with military honors will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery at the convenience of his family.
