Obituary of Myrna J. Hill

Hill, Myrna J. age 82 of Elmira passed away Monday morning, June 27, 2016 at Elcor. Myrna was born in Elmira, the daughter of the late Charles L. and Alice H. Becker. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband of 48 ½ years, Floyd M. Hill; sister, Shirley Louise; grandsons, David Shugart and Joseph Hill; great grandson, Maurice Hall Jr.; and son-in-law, Robert Call. Myrna is survived by her five children, David (Xia) Hill, of Elmira, NY, Lawrence (Glenda) Hill, of Carmichael, CA, Terri Call of Port Orange, FL, Deb Maxwell, and Nancy Hill both of Elmira; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; many nieces and nephews; cousins; and friends. Myrna graduated from Southside High School in 1951. She had a passion for singing and was the first vocalist for the local group called “The Elmirans.” She was also a member of the Elmira Symphony and the Choral Society. Myrna retired as an administrative secretary from Northeast Plastics in Elmira. Together with her husband, they were long time bowlers at EBC in Elmira. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, Inc., 413 S. Main St., Horseheads on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 4-7:00 pm.
