Obituary of Francis D. Catlin

CATLIN, Francis D. Age 93 and long time resident of Perkins Ave. in Horseheads passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016. He was born in Elmira, November 8, 1922, to the late Smith and Charlotte (Coleman) Catlin. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Genevieve (Barchet) Catlin, in 2015. He is survived by his nieces, Lorraine LaDuke of Syracuse, NY and Ellie (Gary) Manchester of Easton, PA; great nieces and great nephews; and a great-great niece and great-great nephew. Fran was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps serving during WWII. Fran was a retired technical writer with Hardinge, Inc. in Elmira Heights, NY. Throughout his life, his hobbies included skiing, photography and reading. His joys were time spent with family and friends, caring for his home, a good joke and sharing a good laugh, a good cup of coffee with his morning coffee group; and above all, Fran enjoyed traveling and the many trips with Gen to coastal Maine. At his request, a graveside service with military honors to take place privately in Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira.
