Obituary of Rosa J. Palmer

Rosa J. Palmer Age 89 of Retirement Drive and formerly of Eastview Drive in Horseheads passed away Monday, December 12, 2016. She was predeceased by her husband, John Palmer on July 4, 2011 and is survived by her loving family, sons, Dr. Ronald Palmer of Painted Post, NY, Roger (Joyce) Palmer of Canton, GA; daughters, Gail (Terry) Van Etten of Advance, NC and Susan Palmer of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Michael, Alex, Julie, Megan, Adam (Tamilynn), Jennifer and Joshua (Heather) and six great grandchildren; brothers, Doyle (Marla) Jury, Butch (Ann) Jury all in Florida. In addition to her husband, Rosa was also predeceased by her sister, Dottie Campbell. Rosa was retired from the Horseheads Central School District where she worked as the attendance clerk at the former Jr. High West. She was a member of Horseheads First United Methodist Church and Women’s Circle. She was also a member of Red Hatter, Home Bureau. Rosa was a collector of dolls and various other collections. Above all else she was devoted to and loved spending time with her family. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 South Main Street, Horseheads on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 1-3:00 pm and again from 5-7:00 pm. Her service will be celebrated in the First United Methodist Church, 1034 W. Broad St., Horseheads on Sat. at 11:00 am with the Rev. Rhonda Kouterick officiating. Burial will take place with her late husband at a later date in Woodlawn National Cemetery.
