Obituary of Marlene H. (Dursham) Fields

Marlene H. (Dursham) Fields Age 78 of Horseheads, was born in Elmira, NY, Christmas Day, December 25, 1938, and went home to the Lord December 30, 2016. Marlene was predeceased by her parents, Henderson and Alberta (Woodward) Sherman; son, Nathanial; and step-daughter, Theresa VonRapacki. Marlene is survived by her husband, James Fields; daughters, and sons, Donovan Dursham of VT, Holly Thrash Shawtelle also of VT, Hope Dursham White of PA, Samantha Dursham of AR, and Joel Dursham of Horseheads; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Jim’s children, James Fields Jr. of Elmira, and Annette Hickman of AR. Marlene was employed at the Fassett Elementary School in Elmira as a teacher’s aide. She enjoyed growing flowers and in her younger years, traveling the county showing mini horses. She enjoyed sewing and especially spending time with and caring for her family and doing what mom’s do. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 South Main Street, Horseheads on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 3-6:00 pm. Her service will take place there on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 11:00 am. The Rev. Gerald Glover will officiate. Burial to follow in Rural Home Cemetery in Big Flats, NY.
