Obituary of Earl A. Titus

Earl A. Titus Earl Allen Titus, the 11th child of Regius and Anna Schaad Titus, died January 1, 2017. He was 90 years old. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife of 67 years, Jeanne S. Titus, and his daughter, Elizabeth D. Impson. He was also predeceased by his 6 brothers and 5 sisters: Elizabeth (Merle) Bruce, Albert (Carrie) Titus, Isabel (Russell) Whitehead,Martin (Pauline) Titus, George (Laura) Titus, Catherine (Samuel) Graham, Viola (Don Noyes) Comstock, Esther (Walter) Deubler, Reid (Doris) Titus, Franklin (Eulalia) Titus, and William (June) Titus. He is survived by his children, Lucille Titus of Elmira, James (Ann) Titus of Bedford TX, and Jeffrey (Robin) Titus of Muncy PA. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Eric (Chrissy) Impson of MA, Jason (Mary Jeanne) Impson of NY, Greg (Christine) Impson of TX, Christopher (Jennifer) Titus of MD, Michelle Titus of TX, Melody (Matthew Kennedy) Titus of TX, Mariah Titus of TX, Jason Dates of NY, Bryan Dates of IN, Shawn (Dominique) Dates of TN, and Kevin (Sasha) Dates of PA. He is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren, son-in-law, Harvey Impson, of Newark NY, sisters-in-law, Doris Titus of Waverly NY and June Titus of Pahrump NV, and many nieces and nephews. Earl grew up in Sayre PA and graduated from Sayre High School. He was a World War II Navy veteran who served on the USS Gilbert Islands, an escort aircraft carrier stationed in the South Pacific. He is a retiree of American LaFrance and Schweizer Aircraft. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church for over 50 years. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 South Main Street, Horseheads, on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 4-6:00 pm and again on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 11:00-12:00 noon when his service with military honors will follow there at the funeral home at 12:00 noon. Burial service at a later date in Dushore, PA.
