Obituary of Helen J. Gilkey

Helen J. Gilkey Age 94 of Horseheads passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2017 at Elcor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 25, 1922, in Pierce, WV, to Theodore and Maria (Mysnyk) Fecich. She was predeceased by her husband, Lee Gilkey, on February 10, 2008. Her surviving family includes her daughter, Deborah (Ronald) Gilkey Beckwith of Laguna Vista, TX; and sister, Sophie Conklin of Horseheads; several nieces and nephews, including, Bonnie (Joe) Hanrahan of Horseheads. Helen was also predeceased by her sisters, Judy Eldred, Mary Crowley, and Anna Stetz; and brothers, John and Alec Fecich. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, and homemaker. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 South Main Street, Horseheads on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 11:00-12:00 noon. Her service will follow at 12:00 noon.
