Uncle Dick was a great, gentle father, a good story teller, and one of those quiet, patriotic men who are the backbone of the America I grew up with. He was my Dad's brother, and the last of the Carrier clan of five uncles and aunts. Their children, my cousins, have scattered but we are all bound by the decent, common sense, generous, principles that they lived by, and passed on to us. I mourn his passing.
