Obituary of Thomas Kinney

KINNEY, Thomas E. Age 92 of Flannery Apartments in Elmira passed away after an extended illness on Thurs. Sept. 28, 2017. He was born in Salisbury, VT to the late Francis and Ruth (Preston) Kinney. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth in 2008. Tom is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Chris Russo of Elmira, NY; Granddaughter, Jillian (Brian Thuringer) Felsburg of Phoenix AZ; Sister, Lorraine (Gordon) Taft of Columbus OH; and Brother, James (Betty) Kinney of Harrisburg, PA. Tom was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII at the Battle of the Bulge and the Korean War. He was also a Bronze Star Recipient and retired Civil Engineer with Thiokol Chemical in Newtown, PA. He was an avid Bingo player and an avid golfer. Family and friends are invited to attend his graveside service with military honors to take place on Friday Oct. 6, 2017 at 1:00 pm in Woodlawn National Cemetery 1825 Davis St., Elmira, NY 14901.
