Obituary of Richard Abbott

ABBOTT, Richard E. Age 88 of Elmira passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017. He was born in Rochester, NY, Oct. 2, 1929 to the late Millard and Grace (Farrell) Abbott. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Perry) Abbott; Son and daughters, Richard Abbott, Beverly Abbott and Diane (Gary) Dixon; Sister, Betty Mussack of Phelps, several grandchildren; Also surviving are Nancy’s family including her daughters and their families. Dick was a self employed electrician owning and operating Dick’s Electric in Elmira. He was a veteran of the US Air force serving during the Korean War. Dick was also a member of the American Legion in both Newark, NY and Elmira Heights, NY as well as being a die hard Softball enthusiast maintaining the “Abbott Dynasty”. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Monday Nov. 13, 2017 from 1-3:00 pm His service will be celebrated there at the conclusion of calling hours at 3:00 pm.
