Obituary of Ruth A. Granville

GRANVILLE, Ruth A. Age 95 and life long resident of Erin passed away Fri. Dec. 15, 2017. Ruth was born in Erin, Aug. 9, 1922 to John and Jennie (Mrazik) Matejka. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur in 1994 and is survived her daughters, Jeanne (Tom) Dolaway of Erin, and Connie Onesky of IL; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; Daughter-in-law, Gloria Ervay; sister-in-law, Helen Matejka; brother-in-law, Harry Miller and a host of extended family members and many dear friends. Ruth was also predeceased by her daughter, Joanne Lunsford, sons, Robert Granville and Richard Ervay, grandchildren, Scott, Dianne and RobertGranville Jr.; nephew, Dennis Matejka and Brothers and sisters, John (Madelyn) Matejka, Ira Matejka, Anna Miller, Irene (Robert) Watson. Ruth was a charter member of Breesport Southern Light Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and lifelong member of Erin United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Erin Senior Citizens and Erin Historical Society She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ruth had worked for Eclipse during WWII and later at in the cathode ray department at Westinghouse. Family and friends are invited to call at Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Tuesday Dec. 19, 2017 from 2-4:00 pm. Her service will follow at 4:00 pm. Burial service will take place Wed. Dec. 20, 2017 in Scotchtown Cemetery in Erin.
