Obituary of Lora Edna Palmer

PALMER, Lora Edna Age 92 of Big Flats, NY. Lora was born on February 3, 1925, daughter of Benjamin and Olive (VanGorder) Hill and passed away peacefully on December 26, 2017. She was a lifelong resident of Big Flats, marrying there and raising her family in her hometown. Lora worked many years at Minier’s Market. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Welcome Palmer; sons, Roy W. and Donald Palmer; son-in-law, Patrick Sargent, and great-great granddaughter Emma Jean Dunbar. Lora is survived by her daughter Alice Sargent of Mendon, NY; son John Palmer of Saranac Lake, NY; grandchildren Becky (Rob) Carpenter, Christine (Danny) Keough, Zachary (Melissa) Sargent, Casey and Devon Sargent, Cory and Hunter Palmer; great-grandchildren Jamie (Patrick) Dunbar, Cyle Keough, Cameron and Collin Carpenter, and Ronan Sargent, as well as great-great-granddaughter Sophie Dunbar and many beloved members of the Hill family. Lora was a very strong woman who loved her family, the outdoors, cooking and baking. There will be no calling hours; a private interment will be held at Big Flats Rural Home Cemetery. The family would like to thank everyone who provided support and comfort.
