Obituary of Isabelle Bennett

BENNETT, Isabelle of Horseheads NY went home to be with her Lord on January 6, 2018. Isabelle was born August 19, 1918 in Post Creek, NY. She was the daughter of Albert and Lena Herrington. She attended Northside Blodgett, Corning and was a homemaker and foster mother to ten children while living on Gorton Road, Corning, NY. Prior to relocating to Bethany Manor, she was a resident of Fort Pierce, FL for 35 years. She was also a member of Catlin United Methodist Church. Isabelle is predeceased by her loving husband, Russell Bennett; daughters Joan Travis (Hank) and Marlee Turner and great granddaughter, Jenny Turner. She was also, predeceased by her brother, Ellsworth Herrington and sister Althea Bennett. She is survived by her son, Jeffery Bennett of Fort Pierce, FL. Grandchildren, Brenda White, Sherry Quillen, Lori Travis, Kristine Travis, Terry Turner, Lonny Turner, Lisa Chandler, Kim Coval, Julie Dickson, Bobby Bennett, Lisa Bregitzer, Michele Swearingen, Ashley Bell. She is also survived by 23 great grandchildren and 14 great great-grandchildren and son-in-law, Jack Turner of Horseheads, NY. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The immediate family would like to extend a special thanks to granddaughter, Shelly Turner and the staff at Bethany Manor for their care, time and kindness in her final years. Family and friends may call at the Barber Funeral Home, Inc. 413 S. Main Street, Horseheads, NY on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 3:00-5:00 pm. Funeral service will follow at 5:00 pm with family friend, the Rev. Theodore Brennan officiating. A graveside burial service will be held on January 20th, 2018 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce, FL.
