Obituary of Theodore Ruger

RUGER, Theodore M. “Ted” On Tuesday, February 13 th , 2018, Theodore Marcus Ruger, formerly of Horseheads, NY, passed away suddenly in Prosper, TX at the age of 57. Theodore will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, his enjoyment of cooking, his storytelling, and his love for the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed playing softball and worked as an umpire for many years. Ted served in the Air Force and was once commander of the VFW in Elmira Heights, NY. He was born to William and Elmae Ruger in Elmira, NY on December 3, 1960. He is survived by Misty (Keyser) Ruger and his children, Michael (Joelle) Ruger of Corning, NY, Michelle (Michael) Ruger Tieman of Corning, NY, Alexis Ruger of Prosper, TX, and Katrina Ruger of Prosper, TX; three grandchildren; mother, Elmae (Adams) Ruger of Horseheads, NY; father, William (Connie) Ruger of Beaver Dams, NY; brother, Terry (Barbara) Ruger of Newfield, NY; foster brother, Thomas Heck of Virginia Beach, VA; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brothers Thomas Ruger (2006) and Timothy Ruger (2008). Friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Fri. Feb. 23, 2018 from 5-8:00pm . His service will take place there at the funeral home on Sat. 10am. Graveside with military honors will follow in Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira.
