Obituary of Maura Theresa Post

Maura Theresa Post Horseheads – Age 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Elcor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Maura was born in Auburn NY, a daughter of Alice Carey Mitchell Theiss and Francis Theiss. She is predeceased by her brother, Paul Mitchell, and sister, Sister Catherine “Kate” Paul Theiss, who had been a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet for 41 years. Maura is survived by beloved husband of 55 years, William Post, and their children and families: Christopher Post and wife Linda, with their children, Jamie and Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel (husband) and Jeremy Post; Richard Post and wife Tammy, and their children, Michael Dove and Jordan Gerbasi; and great granddaughter, Shyler Gerbasi; Michael Post and his children, Brandi and Kevin Oglseby; and Lorraine Champlin and husband Larry, and their child, Sean Wilkins. Maura was a dedicated and wonderful wife and mother. She found extraordinary joy in her grandchildren. Maura spread love and kindness to all who came into her life through her unconditional friendship and exceptional sense of humor. She loved to play cards and the slot machines at her favorite casinos. Maura also enjoyed attempting pranks on her family and close friends. Family and friends are invited to Barbers Funeral Home, 413 S Main St., Horseheads, on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 6:00 pm. The Post family would like to sincerely thank the skilled nursing staff at Elcor for the wonderful care of Maura and to Heather Wiggins for her devotion, friendship, and support over the last five years.
