Obituary of Joyce Marie Taft

TAFT, Joyce Marie Age 77 formerly of Catalpa Dr. and longtime resident of Elcor and Villa Serene passed away after a long illness Mon. Jan 31, 2011. She was born March 2, 1933 a daughter to the late Robert and Mary (Zimdahl) Carr. She was predeceased by her husband, Kendall C. Taft in 1962 and granddaughter Amelia Taft in 1991. She is survived by her sons and daughter, Patricia Penz of Rochester, NY, Duane (Jean) Taft of Waquoit, MA, and Rod (Pam) Taft of Beaver Dams, NY; Grandchildren, Jeremy, Darrick, and Michael Beber; Amy Cruz, and Adam Taft. Craig and David Penz, Robert and Elizabeth Taft; 7 great grandchildren. Brother, Ron Carr and sister, Virginia Coon; several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Tom Carr; brother-in-law, Floyd Coon. Joyce was active with the many programs at Elcor where she had been residing for the past 10 years. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Thursday Feb. 3, 2011 from 5-7:00 pm.
