Obituary of Joyce Allington

Age 84 of Millport, NY. She was born March 15, 1937 in Elmira, NY, daughter of the late Jack and Mildred (Comfort) Tryon passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Elcor Nursing Home. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her infant daughter Jill Louise; son-in-law James Carrier and brothers William and Donald. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Harold; daughters Wendy (Tom) Hugg Smith of Elmira, Susanne Carrier of Horseheads and Debra (Vincent) Sano of Vestal, NY; grandchildren Michael, Eric (Angela), James, Karen (Adam); great grandchildren Lia, Ali and Noah; brother Joseph (Carol) Comfort of Horseheads; brothers-in-law Raymond and Richard (Vivian) Allington. Joyce retired from the Horseheads School District and was a former employee of Iszards. She was a voracious reader, reading an entire book in one day. She loved crocheting and was known for her delicious macaroni & cheese. Private services will be held at the convenience of her family. She will be laid to rest with her daughter Jill in Woodlawn National Cemetery. Joyce’s family thanks Elcor’s Colonial Ridge for the wonderful care they provided her.
