Obituary of Albert B. Howell Jr.

HOWELL, Albert B. Jr. Age 89 of Lynwood CA and formerly of Horseheads passed away Feb. 6, 2011 in California. Al was born May 28, 1921 in Elmira, NY a son of the late Albert and Edna (Brown) Howell Sr. He is survived by his sons, Thomas Howell of Buford, GA and Theodore Howell of Stow OH; sister, Louise Scott and brother, Robert Howell both in California. He was a US Army Veteran and retired from the former Westinghouse Electric in Horseheads where he worked as a buyer and programmer. While living in Horseheads for 53 years, he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Horseheads, active with Little League Baseball, Boy Scouts, Indian Guides and as a Sunday school teacher. Having moved to California in 1974, Al belonged to the American Legion in Downey CA and was active with the senior citizen Dance Club and past president of the Golden Key Club- a senior citizen group in Norwalk CA. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Friday Feb. 18, 2010 from 3-5:00 pm. His service will follow calling hours at 5:00 pm.
