Obituary of Roger D Johnson

JOHNSON, Roger D. Age 77 of Horseheads, NY. He was born May 27, 1944 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Harry and Deletha (Gardner) Johnson and passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the Bath VA Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karon; children Dee (Ben) Martin of York, PA, Casi (Stefany) Johnson and Luis Johnson both of Horseheads; grandchildren Noah & Nick Martin, Xander, Maddy, Lucas & Myla Johnson; sister-in-law Barbara Johnson of Millport along with several nieces, nephews and friends. Roger was a member of Maranatha Bible Chapel. He retired from Hardinge, Inc, was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. Roger and Karon were foster parents in Chemung County for 37 years. He loved his Lord, family and friends. Family and friends are invited to visit Maranatha Bible Chapel, 774 Sing Sing Rd., Horseheads on Sunday, September 19th 2021 from 3 pm to 5 pm, and on Monday, September 20th 2021 from 9 am to 10 am. His funeral service will be held there on Monday at 10 am. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Roger’s family wishing to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Bath V.A. Hospital Staff, as well as those from the V.A. Home Health Services, for the excellent care Roger received.
