Obituary of Beatrice E. Sindelar-Bixby

SINDELAR-BIXBY, Beatrice E. “Bea” Age 93 of Breesport, NY passed away peacefully on Feb. 14, 2011 at the Arnot Ogden Skilled Nursing Facility. Bea was born in Sunderlinville, PA on June 22, 1917 a daughter to the late George and Blanche (Smith) Haynes. She is survived by her children, Joseph (Kris) Sindelar, Rose Sweet, Robert Sindelar, Helen Kohan, James Sindelar, Charles (Elsie) Sindelar and Nancy (Ross) Barnes; sister, Pearl Sutphen; brothers, Loyd and Jake Haynes; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; and her dog and companion “Scooter”. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Sindelar on Dec. 23, 1960 and husband, Willard Bixby Dec. 11, 1979, also brothers, Kemp, Frederick, Lawrence and Clifford Haynes. She retired from Thatcher Glass with 30 years of service and was a communicant at Breesport Baptist Church. Bea was known for her green thumb, her vegetable garden, her skills in cooking, her needle work and she could fish with the best of them. Bea also became an avid golf fan while following her grandson, Joey Sindelar on the PGA Golf Tour. At her request there will be nor prior calling hours or service.
