Obituary of Paul Elmer Fox
Paul E Fox passed away on December 19, 2021 in Tucson, AZ at the age of 95. He was born September 25, 1926 in Millerton, PA to Edwin L. Sr. and Margaret (Tobias) Fox. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Mary Catherine (Koyne) Fox, his daughter, Eileen (Wayne) Frey and son Thomas (Sandra) Fox of Tucson, AZ and his son David (Cindy) Fox of Kannapolis, NC, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, 1 brother, 2 sisters and several nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Elmira Free Academy in Elmira, NY and attended Union College in Barbourville, KY
Paul served 38 honorable years in the army, both active duty and Army reserve. In 1958 he started his career as a correction officer with the state of NY, in Dannemora, NY. In 1961 he was called to military duty due to the Berlin Crisis. He returned to being a correction officer at the Elmira Reformatory in Elmira, NY until he retired and returned to active duty as an active duty Army reservist. He served at Ft Leonardwood, MO and then at Ft. Huachuca, AZ until he retired from the Army. He also worked at LaPosada Nursing Home in Tucson, AZ as a nursing assistant until he was 80 years old.
He Loved to talk and tell stories about his life and jobs. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, brother and uncle.
His funeral is January 6, 2022 from 2-4 pm at the Adair Funeral Home on Dodge Blvd., Tucson, AZ.
His burial will be through the Barber Funeral Home in Horseheads, NY. Military and Correctional honors will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11am in Scotchtown Cemetery, Erin, NY. He will be buried next to his in-laws, of whom he was very fond.
