Obituary of Andrew Garth Rumsmoke

Andrew Garth Rumsmoke Age 50 of Watkins Glen, NY. In Elmira, NY, Andrew was born on February 23rd 1971, son of the late Dorothy "Dotty" (Goff) Burlew and Garth L Rumsmoke. Andrew passed away unexpectedly on February 9, 2022. In addition to his mother, Andrew was predeceased by many uncles and aunts. Andrew is survived by his fiancé Sue Ann Underwood; father Garth L. Rumsmoke; stepparents Donald (Rae) Burlew; sister Helen Spaulding; brother Charles (Janice) Rumsmoke; stepchildren Devin Romano, Anthony Naylor, Charlie Underwood, and Alexis Naylor; step-grandchildren Avianna and Grace; nieces Shellie(Josh) Black, Kayla Dundas, and Mackenzie Dundas; nephews Nicholas Rumsmoke, Michael (Samantha)Spaulding, and Marshall Spaulding; great-nieces Paige Spaulding; and great-nephew Wilder Black. Andrew graduated from Thomas Edison High school in 1990. He was known as "White Lightning" of the track team, earning a full scholarship to Alfred University. Andrew chose to enter the military as a Navy Gunners Mate and served four years; Andrew was a disabled veteran. Andrew was full of life, laughs, and pranks and filled his days loving his fiancé, Sue Ann Underwood. Andrew loved his Pomeranian, Prince. He had a passion for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and trapping. Andrew loved helping those in need and, in return, acquired many friends. Andrew was loved by everyone he touched. Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads, NY on Friday, February 18th 2022 from 11 am to 1 pm. Andrew's funeral service will be held there at 1pm. Private committal with military honors will be held with family in Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, NY.
