Obituary of Janet Carolyn D. Saunders

Janet Carolyn D. Saunders Was born December 6, 1935 in Norwich, NY the daughter of the late George Lawson and Ruth (VanDuesen-Clapper) Dimmick. She passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 peacefully at home. Janet was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Francis W. Saunders; daughter-in-law, Patricia Saunders; son, Pastor Stephen "Skip" Saunders Sr. She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Sharyl and Rodney Marshall; daughter-in-law, Sally Saunders; grandchildren, Stephen (Kristy) Saunders Jr., Stephanie Saunders, Jeffery (Gigi) Erickson, Gregory (Katie) Erickson, all of North Carolina, Jennifer (Dana) Bennett and Doug Page of New York; step-grandchildren, Matthew (Ashley) Marshall of Virginia, Tracie (David) Emment of Maryland, Shane Jaynes of Pennsylvania, James (Jacqueline) Williams and Timothy (Regina) Williams of North Carolina; great grandchildren, Tyler and Alex Saunders, Gavin and Ethan Erickson, Bryce Bennett, Cameron and Adalynn Erickson, along with multiple step-great grandchildren. Also close and dear friend, Penny Page; sister, Dee Wilkinson, sisters-in-law, Patricia (Roger) Ferguson and Nancy Saunders; along with many nieces and nephews that loved Janet very much. Janet was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her family with all of her heart and soul. She was a graduate of Norwich High School and a Cub Scout leader. Janet was a past member of the Big Flats Volunteer Fire Department Women's Auxiliary and a devoted friend. Janet loved camping with her husband and children. Janet also loved her fur babies so very much. Private graveside services will be held in the Rural Home Cemetery, Big Flats, NY where Janet will be laid to rest with her beloved Francis. A Memorial Service to honor Janet and her son, Pastor Stephen "Skip" Saunders will be held at the Glory Hill Church, 155 Johnson Hollow Road Millport, NY at a later date. "Skip's" brother-in-law, Pastor Jack Deyo will celebrate the lives of a wonderful mother and her son.
