Obituary of Harold D Allington

Harold D. Allington Age 90 of Millport, NY. Born April 29, 1932 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Walter and Mildred (Campbell) Allington, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022 of a broken heart after losing his beloved wife, Joyce, of 65 years on May 26, 2021. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his infant daughter Jill Louise; son-in-law James Carrier and brothers Mike, Walter and William. He is survived by his daughters Wendy (Tom) Hugg Smith of Elmira, Susanne Carrier of Horseheads and Debra (Vincent) Sano of Vestal, NY; grandchildren Michael, Eric (Angela), James, Karen (Adam); great grandchildren Lia, Ali and Noah; brothers Raymond and Richard (Vivian) Allington; brother-in-law Joseph (Carol) Comfort of Horseheads along with several nieces and nephews. Harold was employed with General Electric for over 30 years, until their closing where he was the last man out. He then worked at Hardinge, Inc., from where he retired. He was a proud U.S Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict; enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. Private services will be held at the convenience of his family. He will be laid to rest with his wife Joyce and daughter Jill in Woodlawn National Cemetery. Harold's family thanks the Chemung County Nursing Facility for the wonderful care they provided him.
