Obituary of Raymond E. Pease

Pease, Raymond E. Age 94 of Windsor Road, Horseheads, NY passed away Monday, June 27, 2022 unexpectedly at home. He was born January 9, 1928 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Emory and Mildred (Fisher) Pease. In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Betty Jane, in 2010. He is survived by his daughters Janice (Dr. Renato) Rojas of Horseheads, Joyce (Brian) Cunningham of Horseheads; grandchildren Eric (Suzanne) Gabrielson, Jr. of Fairbanks, AK, Joseph (Anamarie) Rojas of Boston, MA, Jamie (Rene') Burgess of Horseheads, Justin (Beckie) Pfaff of Horseheads; great grandchildren Taylor Burgess of Horseheads, Riley Burgess of Georgia and Evan (Alicia) Miller of Horseheads; great, great granddaughter Lauren Marie Miller; great, great grandson Anthony Miller; niece Lynda (Jim) Ely of VA; sisters Evelyn Catlin of VA, Maryann (Jim) Kamas of Pine City; sister-in-law Delores Yorke of Horseheads; beloved neighbor and best friend Debbie Hicks; precious kitty Tee Tee. A very special thank you to his caregivers. They were a source of great comfort. Ray worked for the former Remington Rand plant in Elmira. He and Betty were self employed restaurateurs who in 1964 opened Sugar and Spice Restaurant in Horseheads. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, stock car and NASCAR racing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Family and friends are invited to visit Barber Funeral Home, 413, S. Main St., Horseheads on Friday, July 1st from 5 to 8 pm. His funeral service will follow at 8 pm. He will be laid to rest with his loving wife, Betty Jane, in Maple Grove Cemetery at the convenience of his family. Flowers are accepted, or those wishing may remember Ray through donations to the charity of ones choice.
