Obituary of Vivian Greene

Vivian "Shirley" Greene Age 86 of Elmira, NY. She was born May 11, 1936 in Elmira, the daughter of the late Burton and Esther (Powell) Greene and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 12th 2022. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her siblings Paul Greene, Donald Greene, and Danabelle Craven. Vivian is survived by her daughters Lynette (William) Saunders of Breesport, NY, Brenda Marsh of San Diego, CA, Linda (Harry) Owens of Lake Worth, FL, and Nelda (Bruce) Thiel of Elmira, NY; her 7 dear grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends including her special friend Roy. Vivian was a simple woman who took pleasure from meeting people, especially while driving cabs for Totem Taxi and those she met during her over 20 years in Flannery Apartments. Her family wishes to thank the staff and nurses at the Chemung County Nursing Facility for the wonderful care afforded to improve Mom's comfort. Those wishing may make donations in Vivian's name to either the Chemung SPCA or the Arctic League. Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads, NY on Saturday, July 16th 2022 from 5 pm to 7 pm. Her funeral service will be held there at 7 pm; her nephew Pastor Scott Greene to officiate. Committal and interment will be held later in Hilltop Cemetery in Breesport, NY.
