Obituary of Stephen Richard Hartigan

Stephen Richard Hartigan "Steve" Age 31 of Horseheads, NY. Stephen was born November 30, 1990 in Elmira, NY, the son of Geoffrey and Lisa (Fluman) Hartigan, passed away on Friday, September 9th 2022. He was predeceased by his grandfather William S. Hartigan, and his grandmother Sandra L. Stranzl. He served in the Army National Guard, including a tour of duty in Afghanistan. He was employed by Local Union #178 as a Painter. In addition to his parents, Stephen is survived by his beloved children Natalie Hartigan, Anabelle Silvia, and Thomas Hartigan; brother Mark Hartigan; grandfather, Richard Fluman; grandmother Nancy Hartigan; along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many dear friends Stephen will be remembered as a doting, caring, and patient father, a loving son and brother, and so much more to all those whose lives he touched. He served in the US Army as a combat medic. Working as a painter allowed him to spend more time with his artistic talents, which were also on display through his photography. He was fearless and had a passion for martial arts and a witty sense of humor on display. He was "an MMA fighting comedian". Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St. in Horseheads, NY on Sunday, September 18 from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. His Funeral Celebration will be held there on Monday, September 19th 2022 at 11:30 am with John Knapp officiating. Committal and internment with military honors will follow at 1:00 pm in the Woodlawn National Cemetery, in Elmira. Family requests those wishing to send donations written out to his parents to the Barber Funeral Home, to support Stephens's children and their futures.
