Obituary of Patricia J. Besley

Patricia J. Besley (Brown) Age 69 of Beaver Dams, NY. She was born on October 28, 1953 in Gloversville, NY, the daughter of the late William L. and Maxine (Campbell) Brown Sr., and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 28, 2022. In addition to her parents Patricia was predeceased by her sister "Little" Betty Jane Brown; and her brother-in-law Karl Haischer. She is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, George Besley Sr.; with their children Wendy (Jason Switzer) Rogers, George (Stacy) Besley Jr., Kody Besley, Jeffrey Besley, and John Besley; grandchildren Maddison, Colton, and Caleb Besley, Zane, Kaylie, and Clara Rogers, and Natalie Switzer; siblings Roxanne Haischer, Terry (Sally), John (Laurie), Randy (Cheri), and William Brown Jr.; along with her best friends Jill Gaylord and Pam Palmer. She was cared for in her last days by her closest loved ones including Mike Besley. Patricia loved her farm, loved her work on the land, and greatly enjoyed her service as a nurse at Schuyler Hospital for 43 years after receiving her license as an LPN. Most important was her family. She doted on her grandchildren, with sleepovers of all 6 at the house. She and George were longtime foster parents; they cared for over 60 children through the years and gave them better lives through all the support and love they could. A cook remembered for gathering the family over the holidays, and accolades for her pies and "the best baking around", Patricia tended to so many, and enriched lives over her many years and many roles. Family and friends are invited to visit the Central Assembly of God, 1 Brenway Dr, Horseheads, NY 14845, on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 10 am to 12 noon. Private committal will be held with her family; Patricia will be laid to rest in Montour Falls Cemetery.
