Obituary of Gloria May

May, Gloria (Pastore) Age 93 of Horseheads, NY. Gloria was born September 29, 1929 in Michigan, the daughter of the late Orlando B. and Mary M. (Wargo) Pastore; she passed away peacefully, at home surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, August 1st 2023. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years, James R. May, in 2000; along with her daughter LuAnn; and her brother Donald Pastore. She is survived by her daughter MaryBeth (Tim) Fiala of Horseheads, NY; sons Scott (Li) May of Austin, TX, and Bruce (Stephanie ) May of Horseheads, NY; granddaughters Misty, Jennifer, Alysha, Brittany, Paige, Abby, and Kalle; grandsons Dominic, and Zack; 6 dear great grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Gloria was a longtime communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing, which led to her long career as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital. There she worked in Pediatrics for years, later becoming a Unit Director of Day Surgery. Gloria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a dear friend to those whom she met in life. Her children know that some friends were 'jealous' of them for having such a wonderful mother. At her wishes, private services will be held. Gloria will be laid to rest in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery, Horseheads.
