Obituary of Christine R. Russo

Christine R. Russo 9/21/1951 - 8/13/2023 We grieve in the loss of our wonderful Christine, taken by Jesus to relieve her pain and suffering from a long battle with cancer. She has truly touched so many souls and will be sorely missed. We see her smiling face in everything we see, and everything we touch. She verily takes a piece of our hearts with her until we all meet again. Christine was born and raised in Trenton, NJ, daughter of Elizabeth and Thomas Kinney, and after college, lived in Levittown PA and Watkins Glen NY. Christine was a graduate of James Madison University in Virginia and a graduate of Elmira College, both with teaching degrees. She was a library clerk at the Steele Memorial Library where she would hold early childhood reading events among her other duties. She was with CCLD for many years. She loved where she worked and the people she worked with. She also participated and acted with Lake Country Players and Elmira Little Theater in productions like 'Annie', 'Bus Stop' and 'You Can't Take It With You'. She also enjoyed crafting all kinds of decorative items with her Cricut cutting machines and offering items for sale at various craft events in the area. It gave her a great sense of accomplishment and joy. She is survived by her husband Christopher, daughter Jillian, and step-sons Jack and Gregory. Joining in our mourning is Jillian's husband, Brian Thuringer and Jack's spouse, Heather as well as their daughter and our granddaughter, Adeline. A Memorial Remembrance and Celebration of Life will be held at Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St. in Horseheads, NY, on Sunday, August 20th 2023 from 4pm till 6pm. with an oration at 4:30pm.
