Obituary of Matthew James Shaffer

Matthew Shaffer Passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the age of 56. He was born on December 19, 1966 in Elmira. Son of John Sr and Helen (Bush) Shaffer. Matt was predeceased by his parents and brother Henry. Matt is survived by his siblings Pat, John Jr., Diane Dunn, William, Philip, Gerald Shaffer, Dawn Hope (Melanie) Shaffer, Judy; son Leo Garris; special niece Meneke and many aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Matt loved being around family and all the kids. Matt helped many people with odd projects or other things they may have needed done, and was proud to be able to help. A graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park will be held at the convenience of the family. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Elmira, NY on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 12:30PM.
