Obituary of Darryl H. Fink

Darryl H. Fink Age 84 of Horseheads, NY. He was born June 12, 1939 in Fallentimber, PA, son of the late Walter and Sylvia (Shomo) Fink and passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Corning Hospital after an extended illness. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Dale Fink. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judith; children Lynette Baker of Fairport, NY, Christina Staight of Barton, NY, Kimberly Wayman of Horseheads, NY, Alan (Sheilagh) Fink of Brockport, NY and Denise (John) Gann of Swansboro, NC; grandchildren Taylor, Brendan, Frank, Kyle, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Tiffany, Frances and Violet; sister Joyce Caretti of Patton, PA. Darryl retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. as store manager after 36 years. He then drove a bus for the Red Cross transporting special needs people, a job he loved. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army; a member of the Knights of Columbus, Junior Achievement and an Honorary Sheriff Deputy. He was a prankster who loved to surprise and joke with his children. He was happiest when surrounded by his family and traveling with his wife. Together they toured over 550 lighthouses. Family and friends are invited to visit Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., Horseheads on Friday, February 2nd from 5 to 7 pm. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 3rd at 10 am in St. Mary Our Mother Church, 816 W. Broad St., Horseheads. Rev. Christopher Linsler, Celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Altoona, PA at the convenience of the family.
