Obituary of Francis John Leonard

LEONARD, Francis John "Frank" Age 80 of Big Flats, NY. He was born June 1st 1943, the son of the late August and Ellen Leonard, and passed away on Friday morning, February 9th 2024. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother 'Augie' Leonard in 1957; and his first wife Roseanna Leonard in 1974. Frank is survived by his dear wife Joyce Leonard, along with extended family. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1964 to 1970, including foreign service of 19 months in Vietnam - attaining the rank of Sergeant. Frank also served with the Army Reserves from 1977- 1993. He retired after 23 years from the Elmira Correctional Facility, where he starting in 1970. He and Joyce were married in 1984. Frank was a member of the American Legion Post 154 & VFW Post 6083. Private services will be held. Those wishing to honor his life are asked to make a donation to a local animal shelter.
