Obituary of Stephen A. Coldiron

Stephen "Steve" Allen Coldiron Age 71 of Big Flats, NY. He was born January 11, 1953 in Sayre, PA, the son of the late Hayward B. and Beverly (Shaw) Coldiron. Steve passed away peacefully at home, with his family surrounding him, on Thursday, March 7, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife Gayle (Smith) Coldiron; son and daughter-in-law Jared (Kristine) Coldiron of Horseheads, NY, with their children Camden & Morgan Coldiron; his brother and sister-in-law David (Alison) Coldiron of Sayre, PA; stepsons Adam & Eric Kreil; along with several members of extended family, and so many dear friends. Steve is remembered for how easily he made friends, his hard work ethic instilled by his family, the love for his family- especially his grandchildren, being a Civil War buff, and his 'off the charts' sense of humor. He enjoyed travel of any variety, but notably trips and anniversaries in Gettysburg, golf outings with Jared, and the solitude of shooting ventures in Ridgebury, PA. He was a well-liked man who started at his family's business of Coldiron Fuel after his first few jobs of his youth. He worked his way to become Vice President; learning every aspect and duty of the business along the way. Family and friends are invited to the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads, NY on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 3 pm to 6 pm. His memorial service will be held there at 6 pm. Steve will be laid to rest privately in Union Cemetery, East Smithfield, PA.
