Obituary of Thomas M. Doak

Thomas Michael Doak went home to be with Jesus on May 13, 2024 after a valiant battle with cancer. Tom was born November 2, 1951 in North Tonawanda, New York to James and Edith Doak. He graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School in 1969 and University of Buffalo School of Pharmacy in 1974. He married Paula Thornton in 1974 and began his pharmacy career at St. James Hospital in Hornell. Tom worked in various hospitals and retail pharmacies throughout his career. Tom and Paula served as missionaries briefly in Uganda, then Kenya ministering to orphans from 2003 to 2007. Upon returning to the United States, he resumed his pharmacy career until his retirement in 2023. Tom is predeceased by his parents and his sister Kathleen Doak. He is survived by his wife Paula; Children Christine (Daniel) Rowling, Rebecca (Jef) Powell, and Matthew (Kendra Davis) Doak; Grandchildren Hannah Rohr, Zachary & Jacob Rowling, and Olivia & Jackson Doak. He is also survived by his brothers Paul (Laurie), Dennis (Carol), and many nieces and nephews. Tom was a godly man, involved in many ministries in churches he was a part of. He was also an avid fan of the Bills, Sabres, and Yankees. He was known for his sense of humor and jokes. He was a compassionate man that loves his family, friends, and community in the United States, Kenya, and Uganda. He will be deeply missed.
