Mrs. Jean M. Steiner
"Mima"
Jean was born on October 18, 1929 in Utica, NY, the daughter of the late Eugene and Lillian (Tatro) McNally, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2nd, 2024. In addition to her parents, Jean is predeceased by her first husband Theodore Richard Steinhorst, second husband Richard Dean Steiner, son Theodore Richard Steinhorst II, brother Ronald McNally and cherished companion Warren Miller.
She is survived by her daughters Diane (Daniel) Rossi of Elmira, NY, and Laurie (William Nagle) Steinhorst of Nyack, NY; grandchildren Daniel J. Rossi III, Ian J. Rossi, and Emily J. Rossi, Tess S. Nagle and Colin M. Nagle, Theodore R. Steinhorst III, Jennifer J. (Ammon Pieter) Vrooman, and John K. Steinhorst; great grandchildren Bonny Jean, Allegheny Winter, Oak Pieter, and Inês Viana Vrooman; her daughter in law Candy Lee Steinhorst; along with extended family and friends.
Over her life, Jean encountered so many family and friends whose lives enriched hers as much as she returned the favor. Her grandchildren meant everything to her, attending all sporting events with a loud cowbell in the stands, enjoying concerts, dance recitals and all other celebrations with her family. She had a large love of antiques, glassware and playing bridge with her friends. She was a long-time communicant of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Horseheads. An avid social dancer - Jean enjoyed events at the VFW, whether she was up north or down south. She spent winters in Garden City, South Carolina for over 20 years, relished summers at Cedar Lake, New York; and traveled much of Europe with her husband Richard Steiner.
Family will gather in a private service as she will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery, in Utica, NY. Those wishing to honor her memory may do so with a donation to her church, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 2872 Westinghouse Rd, Horseheads, NY 14845.
