Obituary of Charles William Orgill

ORGILL, Charles William Age 82 of Bentley Place in Horseheads went home to be with the Lord on Wed. June 15, 2011. Charles was born Aug. 23, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA, to Charles and Emma Orgill. He was predeceased by is wife Anna May (Tubbs) on May 24, 1987. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Orgill of Floresville, TX, David and Elizabeth Orgill of Glenville, NY, and Donald Orgill of Elmira, NY; Grandchildren, Stephen Orgill and Sarah Boykin, Shanna Havard, Alyssa, Alayna, Cassandra, and Felicity; Great grandchildren, Felicity, Tyler, Freddie, Tristan, Emily, and Peyton; Dear friend and longtime caregiver, Cindy Walker; Charles retired as a cost accountant from Dresser Rand in Painted Post. He also worked at US Steel in Elmira Heights, Ithaca Gun, and Therm in Ithaca. He was a Veteran of US Navy serving during the Korean War. He was a longtime and active member of the former Calvary Baptist church now Lighthouse Baptist Church here in Horseheads. While there, he was active as a youth leader, Deacon, active in Bible Study, Sunday school and past member of the choir. He was also a member of the Elmira chapter of Gideon’s International for over 30 years and member of the Christian Service Brigade. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Monday June 20, 2011 from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 pm. His service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 am with a graveside service with military honors to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
