Obituary of Richard C. Davies
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved father, Richard Carlton Davies, who passed peacefully on January 19, 2025 at the age of 95. Richard is predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Nancy Davies (Rickey) and his parents Clifford and Bess (Scammell) Davies; and niece, Donna Simpson.
He is survived by his children, Carol Tobias, Richard (Debra) Davies, Mark (Paula Bylaska) Davies and Linda MacDonald; Grandchildren Stephen (Tina) Tobias, Jennifer (Richard) Farrell, Kimberly (Greg) Sequin, Kelley MacDonald, Sarah (Alex) Likos, Katherine Davies, Zachary (Katy) Apholt-Davies, and Rebecca (Madison) Davies-Waterman; Great-grandchildren Aubrey, Evan, Kyla, Sophia, and Stephen; Sister Glena (Donald) Lawson; and his nephews William, James, and Gary. He is also survived by his “sweetie,” Pam Fluent.
Richard was a World War Two veteran with the United States Army. Richard had a passion for barbershop singing. For decades he sang with the Mark Twain Chorus and several other quartets, including the Checker Flag Four which performed at many NASCAR events. He also loved bowling, camping, fly fishing, and golf.
The family would like to thank the Maple Creek staff at Elcor Nursing Facility for the outstanding care and love provided to Richard while he was in their care.
