Obituary of Dorothy J. Cuer

CUER, Dorothy J. (Gilbert) Age 91 of Federal Road, Lowman passed away June 30, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband Roland in 2001. She is survived by her Son, Wayne (Martha) Cuer of Lowman, NY; Daughter, Sheila Holton of Elmira, NY; Grandsons, The Rev. Dale (Karen) Cuer of Bethany, NY; Carl (Kristie) Cuer of Darien Center, NY; Loren Humphrey of North Chemung, NY; Roland (Peggy) Humphrey of Horseheads, NY; Seven great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Dorothy was also predeceased by her granddaughter, Melissa Cuer in 2001 and son-in-law, Lewis Holton in 2008 and sister, Gladys Roberts in 1998. Mrs. Cuer was a member of North Chemung United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Chemung County Republican Women and Chemung County Board of Elections. She was a retired home health aide with Chemung County and member of the Chemung County Home Bureau. Dorothy was Past Matron and Secretary of Southern Light Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 South Main St, Horseheads on Wed. July 6, 2011 from 1-3:00 and again from 6-7:30 pm Her funeral and committal service will follow there at the funeral home at 7:30 pm. with the Rev. Chip Possee officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Park at the convenience of his family. NOTICE: Officers and members of Excelsior-Southern Light chapter O.E.S. will gather at the Barber Funeral Home on Wed. July 6 to conduct a memorial service for their departed sister.
