Obituary of Emma Tinker
TINKER, Emma R.
Age 70 of Bentley Place in Horseheads passed away after a brief illness on Mon. Oct. 3, 2011 surrounded by her family.
Emma was born in English Center, PA, to Jacob and Gertrude (Ellsworth) Landmesser.
She is survived by her husband, Winston Tinker;
Sons and daughters,
Tim (Rita Donato-Edwards) Edwards of Dunellen, NJ,
Chris (Annette) Burgess, of Matoaca, VA,
Tina (Scott) Hager of Horseheads, NY,
Gina (Dan) Tinker-Williams also of Horseheads, NY,
Kelly (Marcus) Tinker-Gregory of Mineral, VA;
Grandchildren,
Brian Burgess, Eric and Nicole Burgess, Ben Hager, Deric Williams, Asher Williams;
Great grandchildren, Alexander and Makyla Burgess;
Sisters and brothers,
Dorothy Kennedy, Emily Wellman, Clara Wheaton, Henry Landmesser, Jean White, Jacob Landmesser, and Howard Landmesser; and
Several nieces and nephews.
Emma was a retired account clerk with the Chemung County Department of Social Services. She was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene in Horseheads.
Emma loved golf, spending time with grandchildren, and regular walks through the neighborhood. She also enjoyed gardening.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Thurs. Oct. 6, 2011 from 2-4:00 and again from 6-8:00 p.m.
A celebration of her life will take place on Friday Oct. 7, 2011 in the Grace Church of the Nazarene, 431 Wygant Rd. Horseheads at 10:00 am with the Rev. Tim Maynard officiating. Grave side committal service will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira.
