Obituary of Carole M. Cook

COOK, Carole M. Age 70 of Rock Cabin Rd. Montour Falls NY and formerly of Horseheads passed away after an extended illness on Tues. Jan. 31, 2012 at Schuyler Hospital. She was born in Elmira to Gerald and Marion (Fish) Martin. She is survived by her husband of over 51 years, Richard Cook; Sons and daughter, Edward (Liana) Cook of Odessa, NY, Lori Cook of Montour Falls, NY, Ronald Cook of Horseheads, NY, James Cook of Newfield, NY, Debbie Wrisley also of Newfield, NY; Daughter-in-law, Tabitha Cook of Hector, NY; Grandchildren, William, Michael, Kathleen Cook; Thomas and Felisha Cook; Jordan, Charleigh Wrisley; brother-in-law, Robert (Edna) Cook of Elmira, NY and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close and caring friends and neighbors. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her half brother, John Martin. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s of the Lake in Watkins Glen, NY and involved in various ministries in the church. Carole was an election inspector for Schuyler County and past senior regent for the Women of The Moose Montour Falls Chapter. Above all she was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. Carole also worked in food service for many area establishments including McCrory’s at the Arnot Mall. In her earlier years she was also an accomplished bowler and bowling coach. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St., Horseheads, NY on Fri. Feb. 3, 2012 from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in St. Mary’s of The Lake 905 North Decatur St., Watkins Glen, NY 14891 on Sat. Feb. 4, 2012 at 12:00 noon. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Watkins Glen, NY.
