Obituary of William N. Sargent

SARGENT, William N. Age 84 of Westwind Rd. Big Flats passed away Sat., Feb. 11, 2012. He was born April 6, 1927 in Tioga County PA to Frank and Florence (Barnes) Sargent Sr. He was recently predeceased by his wife, Arlene on Oct. of 2011. His surviving family includes his daughter, Lisa and Bruce Cooper of Cayuta; Granddaughter, Kelly (Scott) McGinnis of Horseheads, NY; dear friend and “daughter,” Anne Cooney of Daytona Beach FL; dear friend and companion, Linda Cadek of Elmira Heights, NY; Brother and sisters, Gene Sargent of Tioga, PA, Joan (Bob) Heichel of Mansfield, PA, Joanna (Jack) Shaw of Wellsboro, PA, Ruth Thomas, Betty (Joseph) Thompson; Sister-in-law, Doris Sargent, Ruth Powelson, Ellie Sargent, Stella Sargent, all of Mansfield, PA. He was also predeceased by his brothers and sister, Douglas, Robert, Richard, Nathaniel, Frank Jr., Neil and Leo Sargent; and Frances Burnham, Bill was retired from Dairy Lea, NEDCO- Northeast Dairy Co-op and Dietrich’s Milk Products. He also worked throughout his retirement with the American Red Cross in Elmira, NY. He was a longtime member of Hillview United Methodist Church and member of the Horseheads Elks Club. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 So. Main St. Horseheads, NY on Fri., Feb. 18, 2012 from 4-7p.m. His service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Sat. at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Breunig officiating.
