Obituary of Roy W Palmer

PALMER, Roy W age 66 of Big Flats New York passed away on August 6, 2013. Roy was born December 29, 1946, son of Roy and Lora (Hill) Palmer. He was a graduate of Horseheads High School class of 1965 and Hartwick College 1969. Roy served honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked with the department of Veterans affairs for over 35 years, most recently in Houston Texas. Roy was an avid outdoorsman and as a retiree enjoyed hunting and fishing all over the US. He is predeceased by his brother Donald and brother in law Patrick Sargent. He is survived by his parents, his children Cory and Hunter Palmer of Nashville Tennessee, sister Alice Sargent; Mendon NY, brother John Palmer of Pisgah Forest, NC. Nieces; Becky (Rob) Carpenter and Chrissy (DJ) Keough. Nephews; Zach, Casey and Devon Sargent. Great nieces and nephews; Cameron and Collin Carpenter, Jamie Warner and Cyle Keough. A special thank you to Roy’s close personal friends who stood by him in his time of need; Helen & Bruce Davis, Jeff Davis, Ryan Davis and Ray Biagioli, among others. A private service will be held at a later date.
