Obituary of Jack E. Andrews

ANDREWS, Jack E. Age 80 of Veteran Hill Rd. in Horseheads passed away at home Aug. 9, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. Jack was born in Cooperstown NY to Hubert and Mary (Dow) Andrews. He was predeceased by his parents, son, David; in laws, Kenneth and Clara Lewis; grandchildren, Katrina and Danielle Andrews. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Lewis) Andrews with whom he married May 23, 1955 and recently celebrated 58 years together in marriage. Also surviving are Daughters and sons, Jeannette Andrews and Shari Andrews both of Horseheads; Carol (Rich) Kinglsey of Elmira Heights and Laurie (Joe) Griffith of Hendersonville, NC; Jack (Tracy) Andrews of Nashville, TN and Mark Andrews of Horseheads; along with 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews Sister, Bernice Louden and brother, Victor (Ava) Andrews. Jack was also predeceased by his brothers, James, Arthur and Wilbert and sisters, Leona, Charlotte, Jane and Ervine. Jack was a Boy Scout Leader for many years. He was Master Sergeant in the Army Reserves and graduated from both Cooperstown High School and EBI in Elmira. He loved to hunt. Jack also loved to bake cookies with his grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Monday Aug. 12, 2013 from 4-7:00 pm. His service will take place there at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:00 pm with burial and honors to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. www.barberfuneralhome.com
