Obituary of Sheryl A. Elston

Sheryl A. Elston “Sher” Age 56 of Lowman passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 11, 2013. She was born November 20, 1956 in Groton, CT. Sheryl is survived by her husband, Charles Elston of Lowman; son, Shane (Debbie) Gerould of Lowman; mother, Irma Horton also of Lowman; step-daughters, Stephanie (Joel) Moore of Watkins Glen and Lisa (Eric) Lawrenz of Lowman, NY; 16 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends including long time friends, Robin VanAtta and Jackie Thompson. Sheryl was also predeceased by her father, Harvey “Bud” Horton; brother, Fredric Horton; and step-son, Craig Allen Elston. Sheryl was employed at the Academy of Fire Science in Montour Falls where she had worked for over 12 years in the food service department. She also was the co-owner of the Village Coffee Shop in Wellsburg, NY. She was an avid volley ball player and graduate of Waverly High School class of 1975. Above all, she was a devoted caring wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend. She loved the pool, spending time with grandkids, family and friends, traveling and the beach.
