Obituary of Mark C. Overstrom

OVERSTROM, Mark C. Age 52 of Horseheads passed away very unexpectedly on Mar. 20, 2014. Mark was born in Corning on April 6, 1961 to Norman and Laura (Wilson) Overstrom. He is survived by his wife Lynda Rockwell Overstrom.Sons, Zachary and Nicholas Overstrom of Horseheads,Father, Norman Overstrom of Painted Post, Brothers and sisters,Brenda (Chris) McCann of Savona, Mother-in-law, Joan Rockwell of Horseheads, Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim (Suzanne) Rockwell of Lansing, MI, Tom (Mary Ann) Rockwell, Tricia (Gary) Taylor, and Bruce Rockwell all of Rochester; Several nieces and nephews and a host of many caring friends and co workers. He was also predeceased by his mother, Laura Overstrom, brother, Ralph Overstrom, sister Laurie Lynn Hackett, and father-in-law, Ralph Rockwell. Mark was employed at the Elmira Correctional Facility as a Plant Utilities Engineer. He was veteran of the US Navy and member of the Elmira Heights American Legion. Mark enjoyed working on cars and skiing. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working around the house, in the yard, helping friends and especially that special time he spent with his boys. Even after his untimely passing, Mark was still able to help others as he was an Organ and Tissue Donor whose precious gift helped over 30 people. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Wed. Mar. 26, 2014 from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 pm. Service information will follow.
