Obituary of Bruce E. Baker

BAKER, Bruce E. Age 69 or Acorn Dr. Horseheads finally found peace after a courageous battle with cancer on Fri. Aug. 1, 2014 surrounded by friends and family. Bruce was born in Elmira, NY on May 30, 1945 to the late Lester and Thelma (Lidell) Baker. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his brother, Loren Baker in 2006. Bruce is survived by his brother, Doug (Becky) Baker of Horseheads, Nieces and nephews, Amy (Chad) Moore, Kate (Shawn) Bradley all of Horseheads; Loren Baker of Lancaster and Leslie (Justin) Terry and John Emery of Horseheads; Great nieces and nephews, Bryce, Jared and Logan Moore, Brooke and Jack Bradley, Justin Jr., and Emma Terry; Ella and Emery Baker; Sister-in-law, Mary Frances Baker all of Horseheads; Special friends Ron Swartz of Horseheads and Alex (Joan) Granger of Elmira and many other neighbors, friends, and dedicated co-workers and employees. Bruce along with his brother are co-owners and proprietors of Banfield-Baker Corp in Horseheads. He was a member of Horseheads Kiwanis and Horseheads First United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the US Army Reserve. Bruce was a devoted brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed Keuka Lake and many trips to Wolfe Lake in Canada where he spent countless hours with family and friends. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Wed. Aug. 6, 2014 from 4-7:00 pm. His service will take place there at the conclusion of calling hours at 7:00 pm. Private burial service at the convenience of his family.
